No Code tools we are watching closely in 2023

As always, the No Code space is changing rapidly, with new tools and plugins being launched every week. However, only a few of these tools emerge as standouts and build enough momentum to be tool worth considering. We think it's important to choose the tools that you work with carefully, and ensure that they have good customer support, great integrations and a strong community that is creating templates and power ups.

1) Wized

The tool that we are most excited about in 2023 is going to completely change the web application space. Wized is an application purpose built for Webflow, that turns Webflow into a scalable web application. Wized was built in 2021 by a solo-founder, and acquired in 2022 by Finsweet. Finsweet are one of the most active groups in the Webflow community, supplying a component library, the NoBull CMS plugin and attributes - a free alternative to Jetboost.

Wized is going to change the game as it will be built on the back of the most powerful website design tool on the market. Savvy founders have been bending Webflow to their will for years, and building web applications on top of Webflow using an assortment of plugins like Memberstack, Zapier or Make, Airtable and Whalesync. However, this has always had its limitations, one being the bite sized limitations on the CMS; the business plan is capped at 10 nested collections per CMS item, 60 fields and a tiny 10,000 records for the entire database (and that includes category conventions). Wized bypasses the CMS and sends data to the page via API, enabling you to save $$ as you won't need a CMS plan. Further, it looks like Wized will offer filtering, a connection to any database (Xano, Airtable, Supabase or Firebase), a payments gateway with Stripe, some logic, scripts, formulas and of course user auth. This means it will likely replace the need to run Memberstack, Zapier and Whalesync, savings hundreds of $$ per month. Currently Wized is in a closed beta and invites are scarce, but we are hoping to get our hands on one soon.

2) Teta

Teta launched in 2022 and look to be competing in the high end mobile application space. They provide their own CMS and Auth, but also have a large number of integrations so that you can use Supabase, RestAPI or Airtable as a database, and tokens or Supabase as alternative Auth methods. Payments are more interesting as they are do not offer Stripe, and instead connect to Braintree (Paypal), RevenueCat and Qonversion. We have never heard of those last two, and have heard numerous scary stories about Paypal withholding payments and not providing any customer service. Teta has a full list of integrations listed here.

It looks like Teta will be competing most closely with Flutter, and may require some code, although they do claim to be a No Code platform, rather than a Low Code platform, so code may be optional. Teta offers direct publishing to both the Google Play Store and the Apple Store. Pricing seems reasonable and you can get started on a free plan. We will note however, that the community seems small and there aren't any publicly accessible forums, templates or showcases, which are always a good sign and a helpful resource. We think that Teta will be a great option to test out in 2023, and will be a welcome addition to the limited options in the mobile application space.

3) Whalesync

4) Tangram

5) YCode

6) Softr

7) WeWeb
